Photo Shoot with Natasha Wellness
My photography journey so far has connected me with amazing women who are breaking away from corporate life and building their own businesses. One of these women, Natasha, (you can visit her website here) has built her own business from scratch as a health and wellness coach based out of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her and I spent a large portion of our Fridays not only taking photos, but talking about health, business advice, and just life in general.
I was greeted at her place with a delicious smoothie in the making. We spent some time in the kitchen, talking about her specialty in Ayurveda and how practicing this ancient form of medicine has drastically improved her life for the better. Being a health guru myself, I was fascinated with listening to her advice and soaking up as much as I could.
I've always been one to try new things but have had a difficult time sticking with them. One of those things is meditation, which has been particularly hard for me lately. Natasha not only offers her clients meal prep and cooking classes, but she also teaches workshops revolving around yoga and meditation. She has a beautiful room in her condo, solely dedicated for meditation purposes, and recommends creating your own space where you can just zone out and relax. I loved photographing here because it was bright, airy, and clean - perfect for escaping the noisy and sometimes chaotic world.
The afternoon led us to Life Alive in Brookline, where we ordered two amazing meals, beverages, and a dessert. This restaurant is just one of several that Natasha highly recommends in the Boston area for wholesome and nourishing food if you don't have enough time to cook yourself. I LOVED the lentil soup that I ordered and would highly recommend making a visit there as well, especially if you want to focus on more of a plant-based diet.
I enjoyed my time spent with Natasha so much that it flew by extremely quickly! Not only is she very personable and down to earth, but she knows her stuff really well and always had an answer for me regarding my health questions. One thing I've learned through starting my own business is that we look to purchase from people who we think we can relate to, are real and are honest. Natasha is certainly checks off all of those qualities and more.
My collaboration with Natasha has inspired me to connect with other small business owners to do more portrait and lifestyle shoots. If you or someone you know has an interest in collaborating with me like I did with Natasha, send me a message at visionbalm@gmail.com, through my FB page, or DM me on Instagram.
Until next time!
