How To Prep Your Products for a Flawless Product Photo Shoot

While prepping your products for a photo session is second nature for me,  I am realizing that it is not the case for all business owners (especially if this is your first photo session). If you have an upcoming product photo shoot or are thinking of one for the near future, here are a few things to be mindful of when preparing your product so that we can have the best photo session possible!

✔️ Send Clean Products: Check for dust, scratches, or packaging imperfections. The camera picks up every detail! And even though I can Photoshop out many things, it is much easier to photograph a clean product on site rather than spending a lot of time on post production editing.

✔️ Include Multiple Samples: Having backups ensures we can capture the best angles without worrying about defects or damage (if you are shipping). This is also a MUST for consumable items, makeup, or anything that can only be used once. Having multiple samples ensures that we are able to style the images properly.

✔️ Think About Branding & Props: If you have specific styling elements, packaging, or brand colors you’d like incorporated, send those along!

✔️ Label & Organize Your Products: This saves time and ensures we shoot everything exactly as planned. And it also ensures that there are no mistakes with naming image files.

A little prep goes a long way in creating stunning, high-converting product images! Need guidance? Just hit reply to this email, and I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have about an upcoming product photo shoot, even if we aren't working together!
